We love God by loving each other. Seeing with depth and clarity the beauty and the ugliness, the strength and weakness, the fullness of our own selves, the person we know ourselves to be, who is unrevealed even to those with whom we are closest in life, is what allows us to really see our friends, neighbors, even strangers and enemies, with clarity and depth. Thinking love, acting out of love, giving unselfishly regardless of the cost: this is the way we show our gratitude for the miracle of our lives.
